About The Titanic Survivors

The Titanic Survivors started life long ago in 1979. Initially the line up was Chris Packham, Simon Olden, Gordon McGregor and brother Graham McGregor.  Many hours were spent in Simons conservatory practicing to become the next big thing...alas reality got in the way.  Simon soon left to join Southampton punks Strate Jacket, and was replaced by Chris's college mate Simon Brown.  Sadly nothing became of it and we all went our separate ways.  Chris became the TV presenter and wildlife expert that we all know today.

Gordon and Graham then joined forces with school pal Paul Longland and permanent stand-in Graham Hammond on bass.  Their First Gig was July 1981 at the Solent Suite in Southampton...what a night!  More gigs followed at  Club Manhattan and The Joiners in Southampton in those earliest days.

The band then went through a difficult period of everybody leaving! Gordon focused his musical efforts on the new (at that time) medium of home multitrack recording.  Graham graduated from the university of band stuff to play with numerous bands over the next 30 years.

Graham's son Scott McGregor sparked a renewed interest in the Titanic Survivors after so many dormant years and in 2007 the Titanic Survivors rose from the ashes of their previous incarnation, this time as a three piece playing all resurected original material written by Gordon and Paul with Scott McGregor standing in on Bass between gigs with his own band The Queue.

Most local band venues in Southampton were played, including The Hobbit, The Talking Heads, The Joiners, and The Railway in Winchester.

The Titanic Survivors then decided to expand their repertoire to play their favourite covers and get onto the local pub circuit and new man Mark Hutchison was recruited and MEGA POP ROCK was born.

In 2014 after 128 gigs, Mark moved on and was replaced by Dunk White...new face, but the same epic Titanic Survivors sound.  In 2017 front man and singer Ant Morrison joined the band.  His powerful vocals has made the sound of the Titanic Survivors even more awesome.

Many well known songs are now covered but they are always with that special Survivors Sound.  Artists who receive the Titanic Survivors treatment include:- The Who, The Small Faces, Oasis, The Kinks, Kaiser Chiefs, The Stranglers, The Clash, The Jam, Feeder, The Undertones, Paul Weller, The Solarflares, Graham Day and the Gaolers, The Buzzcocks, The Sex Pistols, The Beatles, The Arctic Monkeys.

The set list is under review constantly with new songs added regularly.
